Terms and Conditions

Checker software, supplied by Gassoft Ltd trading as Checker Software. Last updated 18 September 2026.

1. Who we are

Checker is a certification, invoicing and job management service supplied by Gassoft Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom, trading as Checker Software ("we", "us", "our"). These terms are the agreement between us and the person or business using the service ("you").

By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box, or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you confirm you are allowed to do so.

2. Your account

You must give accurate registration details and keep them up to date, including any trade registration numbers you display on certificates. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done under your account, including by any staff or sub-users you add.

Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account. We may suspend an account where we reasonably believe it has been compromised or is being misused.

3. Using the service

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Checker for your own business for as long as your subscription is active and these terms are met.

You agree not to:

  • use the service unlawfully, or to produce a certificate or record you are not qualified or registered to issue;
  • copy, resell, sublicense or white-label the service without our written agreement;
  • reverse engineer the software, or try to access parts of the system you have not been given access to;
  • upload anything unlawful, or anything that carries malware or attempts to disrupt the service for others.

4. Your records and your content

You own the records you create in Checker, including customer details, certificates, invoices, quotes, photos and signatures. We store and process them only to run the service for you, to provide support, and to keep backups.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you put into a certificate or record. Checker helps you record and issue work, it does not carry out or verify the inspection itself, and the engineer who signs a record remains responsible for it.

You can export or ask for a copy of your records at any time while your account is active.

5. Our data promise

We do not sell, rent or share your data, or your customers' data, with any other company for their own use, and we never will. We do not pass your records to marketing companies, data brokers, advertisers or insurers, and we do not use them to build profiles or train products for anyone else.

The only exceptions are the suppliers who run Checker on our behalf, such as our hosting, email delivery and payment providers. They only handle data to the extent needed to deliver the service, under contract, and cannot use it for anything else. We may also disclose information if the law or a court requires it, and we will tell you where we are permitted to.

We process personal data as a processor on your behalf under UK GDPR, and as a controller for your own account and billing details. We keep your data for as long as your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymise it.

6. Cookies and similar technology

Checker uses cookies and similar browser storage. We keep this to the minimum needed:

  • Essential: to sign you in, keep you signed in, protect the sign-up and password pages from abuse, and keep unsaved work safe while you fill in a form. The service will not work without these.
  • Preferences: to remember choices you make, such as list filters, calendar colours and layout settings on the device you are using.
  • Security and fraud prevention: Google reCAPTCHA is used on registration and password reset to stop automated abuse, and is subject to Google's own privacy terms.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but signing in and staying signed in will stop working if you block the essential ones.

7. Subscriptions, payment and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period shown when you subscribe, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise.

You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not give partial refunds for time remaining unless the law requires it or we have agreed otherwise in writing.

If a payment fails we may retry it and, after notifying you, suspend the account until it is paid. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before a renewal.

8. Availability and support

We work to keep Checker available and backed up, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may take the service down for planned maintenance and will try to do that outside normal working hours.

Keep your own copies of anything you are legally required to retain. Support is provided by email and in-app during normal UK business hours.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any 12 month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

10. Ending the agreement

You may close your account at any time from the account settings. We may suspend or end an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if fees go unpaid, or if we are required to by law. Where we can, we will give notice first and a chance to put things right.

After an account closes we keep your data for a limited period so it can be restored if the closure was a mistake, then delete it.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect new features or legal changes. For material changes we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law says otherwise.

Questions about these terms, your data, or a request to see or delete your information can be sent to our support team through the app or by email.
